Anderson Associates was established in 1996. The Principal, Dr. Gordon Anderson, B.Arch(Hons), PhD, MaPS, MAPM, FRIAS, RIBA., has more than 25 years experience of practicing in Stornoway and throughout the Western Isles, both in the private and public sector. Senior office was previously held in the local public sector, where he was in charge of 40 technical staff, from all professional technical backgrounds.
 
Dr. Anderson is a Member of the Association of Planning Supervisors and the Association of Project Management, both through examination success. He serves as a Nationally Elected Council Member of the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland and previously as an Elected Council Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects representing the North of Scotland, the largest geographical constituency in the UK. He sat on the RIBA’s Board of Education and Professional Development. He is also a founding member and past Chair of the Western Isles Architects Group. In March 2001 he was elected a Fellow of The Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland.

Our technical and administrative functions are fully computerised including Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) facilities. Digital photography is also frequently employed by us to send progress shots by e-mail to clients out with the islands
